Our program offers ample free time to wonder and play in the forest and open spaces as well as hands-on experiences with seasonal projects and connecting with other children.
We offer art projects to participate in if the children choose to do so. We also enjoy herbalism projects, bird and bug identification, plant and mushroom curiosities, campfires and seasonal celebrations.

Jenny Fersch, owner of The Feather Garden, is a wholehearted compassionate caregiver with zeal for the beauty of life! Jenny earned a Bachelors degree in Music, spent her twenties performing in and directing musicals, and completed the Open Center’s Green Medicine training in Herbalism in 2013. She has traveled the east coast farming th
Jenny Fersch, owner of The Feather Garden, is a wholehearted compassionate caregiver with zeal for the beauty of life! Jenny earned a Bachelors degree in Music, spent her twenties performing in and directing musicals, and completed the Open Center’s Green Medicine training in Herbalism in 2013. She has traveled the east coast farming through the WWOOF program and landed in Hope, NJ to enjoy the country and raise her family. She has taught several early childhood programs including Music Together and Tinkergarten. She has spent hours working with children in many settings including being a private nanny for years while simultaneously working in the theatre.
Ms. Jenny has a profound respect for children and recognizes how much we, adults of the world, need to learn from them. She is also a proud Boy-Mom of two, and my how her sons light up her life.

Ms. Jenny's program is so good we are willing to drive 40 minutes just to attend! People are constantly telling me how amazed they are at my children's level of knowledge about the local plants and trees. I always tell them about Ms. Jenny's forest school. She is not only an excellent educator, she is a warm, caring presence in my kids lives. I have zero qualms placing them into her care because I know not only will they be kept safe, and learn an amazing amount, they will invariably have a fantastic time with her in nature!
